Terms of Service

Plain-English summary

• You keep full ownership of the content you publish on VeloCMS.
• Subscriptions renew monthly until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the admin billing page.
• We reserve the right to suspend accounts that host illegal content, spam, or malware. We will always notify you first except in emergencies.
• Service is provided "as is" — we aim for high uptime but do not guarantee it contractually during the MVP period.

Your content

You retain all rights to the content you publish on VeloCMS — posts, pages, media, member data. We process it only to deliver the service you subscribed to. You may export or delete your content at any time. VeloCMS does not claim any licence over your content beyond what is necessary to host, display, and back it up.

Payments and billing

• Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance by Stripe Payments UK Ltd, our payment processor.
• All prices are shown in USD and exclude tax; applicable VAT is added at checkout for UK and EU customers where required.
• 14-day free trial on all plans. You can cancel during the trial with no charge.
• After the trial, you will be charged on the renewal date every month unless you cancel.
• If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry up to four times within three weeks; you will receive email reminders. If all retries fail, your subscription is cancelled.
• Refunds: pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a monthly billing period if you cancel due to a service outage or defect caused by us. Otherwise, no refunds on partial months.

Account termination

You can close your account voluntarily at any time from /admin/account/delete. On termination: your Stripe subscription is cancelled immediately, your content is soft-deleted and retained for 30 days in case you reconsider, and after 30 days all data is permanently removed (except payment records retained by Stripe under UK tax law).

We may terminate your account if you breach these terms (illegal content, abuse, non-payment after retry exhaustion). We will give you 30 days notice and a data export window, except when immediate suspension is required by law or to protect others.

Acceptable use

You must not use VeloCMS to:

• Publish illegal content, including content that infringes copyright, depicts child sexual abuse, or incites violence
• Send spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk email
• Distribute malware, run cryptocurrency mining, or otherwise abuse our infrastructure
• Circumvent rate limits or access controls
• Resell the service without a separate written agreement

BYOK keys

If you supply your own Stripe or AI API keys (BYOK), you remain responsible for the charges incurred against those accounts. We store your keys encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and only decrypt them at the moment of use. We never transmit them to third parties outside the destination they were issued for.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, data loss beyond your own backup obligations, business interruption).

During the MVP period we do not offer a contractual uptime SLA. We operate a public status page at status.velocms.org and take backup snapshots daily.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced by email to your account address 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of London, UK.
